Summary
T2S Solutions is currently seeking to hire a highly skilled and motivated High Assurance Certification Engineer to join our dynamic team. This critical role will be responsible for performing and supporting the rigorous certification processes required by the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Communication (IC) for High Assurance systems and technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of DoD/IC security policies, certification process and artifacts (e.g., Security Evaluation Requirements Document), and security engineering principles. This position requires a proactive individual with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

Certification

• Provide systems architecture for security design and certification on High Assurance communication programs
• Familiarity with NSA security requirements and specifications, including High Assurance (Type 1) certification and documentation (SERD, IASRD)
• Coordinates with system stakeholders (owners, developers, testers, authorizing officials) throughout the certification process
• Ensures compliance with relevant DoD/IC policies, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST SPs, CNSSIs)

High Assurance Engineering

• Applies security engineering principles to design, develop, and implement secure, high-assurance systems and architectures
• Contributes to the selection and configuration of hardware, software, and procedural security controls
• Participates in security assessments and vulnerability analysis to identify and mitigate weaknesses
• Collaborates with engineering teams to integrate security throughout the SDLC, including secure coding and security testing

Security Policy and Compliance

• Stays current with evolving DoD security policies, standards, and best practices
• Interprets and applies security guidance to system requirements
• Assists in developing and maintaining internal security policies and procedures
• Supports security audits and compliance reviews

Technical Leadership and Collaboration

• Provides technical guidance and mentorship on security and certification
• Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams (engineering, development, program management)
• Communicates complex technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Contributes to continuous improvement of security processes and methodologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in performing DoD security certification activities
• Demonstrated experience with the NSA High Assurance process
• Strong understanding of NIST Special Publications (e.g., SP 800-37, SP 800-53) and CNSSI instructions
• Hands-on experience with security engineering principles and practices
• Familiarity with security assessment tools and techniques
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance

Preferred Qualifications
Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, or equivalent
Experience with specific DoD/IC systems and technologies
Knowledge of embedded security and cryptographic devices

Compensation: 150-175k DOE
