Summary:
We are seeking a talented and highly experienced Senior RF Engineer at T2S, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing radio frequency (RF) systems and components. You will work on a range of exciting projects, from cutting-edge communication systems to advanced radar and satellite technologies. This role requires a deep understanding of RF principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Lead the design and development of RF components such as amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, filters, and antennas. Your designs will be fundamental to creating high-performance and reliable RF systems that meet stringent performance specifications.
- Simulation and Modeling: Utilize advanced RF simulation tools to model and predict the behavior of RF systems and components. Conduct simulations to validate design parameters, optimize performance, and identify potential issues before physical implementation.
- Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the prototyping phase, including building and testing RF circuits and systems. Conduct comprehensive testing to ensure that prototypes meet design specifications and performance criteria. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting any issues that arise during testing and implementing solutions.
- Integration and Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and system architects, to integrate RF components into larger systems. Your ability to collaborate effectively will ensure seamless integration and successful project outcomes.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously analyze and optimize RF systems to enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability. This includes fine-tuning designs, conducting performance evaluations, and making iterative improvements based on testing results and real-world conditions.
- Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in RF technology and industry trends. Contribute to research and development efforts to explore new technologies, techniques, and methodologies that can be applied to our projects.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and performance reports. Communicate findings and progress to internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- 8. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all RF designs and systems adhere to relevant regulatory standards and industry best practices. This includes understanding and implementing compliance measures for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and other regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Active DoD Security Clearance
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- 10 plus years of experience in the field
RF Circuit Design and Development:
- Develop and design RF circuits and systems, including but not limited to amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, filters, and antennas.
- Apply principles of RF engineering to create high-performance designs that meet or exceed project specifications.
- Use design tools and software to create and refine circuit schematics and layout designs.
Simulation and Modeling:
- Conduct detailed RF simulations using industry-standard software tools (e.g., CST, HFSS, ADS) to predict system behavior and validate designs.
- Model RF components and systems to optimize performance parameters, such as gain, efficiency, and bandwidth.
- Analyze simulation results to identify design flaws and implement corrective actions.
Prototyping and Testing:
- Build and assemble prototypes of RF circuits and systems, ensuring accurate and reliable construction.
- Perform extensive testing on prototypes to assess performance metrics, such as signal strength, noise levels, and frequency response.
- Use measurement equipment, including spectrum analyzers and network analyzers, to evaluate and validate prototype performance.
Troubleshooting and Optimization:
- Identify and diagnose issues in RF systems through systematic troubleshooting and analysis.
- Develop and implement solutions to resolve performance problems and improve system reliability.
- Continuously monitor and adjust system parameters to enhance overall performance and efficiency.
Integration with Other Systems:
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, software developers, and system architects to integrate RF components into larger, multi-disciplinary systems.
- Ensure seamless integration by coordinating with team members and addressing any compatibility or performance issues that arise.
- Contribute to system-level design and integration efforts to ensure that RF components function effectively within the broader system.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Engage in ongoing research to explore new RF technologies, design methodologies, and industry trends.
- Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance RF system performance and capabilities.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and collaborative projects to drive technological advancements and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Customer and Stakeholder Interaction:
- Interact with clients and stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations for RF systems.
- Provide technical support and expertise to address customer inquiries and ensure their needs are met.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners to support ongoing projects and future opportunities.
